Pawpaw Seedling Transplanting Exercise

On January 27th, 2026, Bakoteh Upper & Senior Secondary School conducted a successful agricultural activity involving the transplanting of 100 dwarf pawpaw seedlings, locally known as pakaya. The exercise took place within the school grounds and actively involved students and staff.

This initiative is part of a project supported by Bayekat, an organization partnering with the school to promote practical agriculture and sustainability. As agreed under the project arrangement, Bayekat will purchase the pawpaw produce harvested from the school, providing both learning opportunities and income generation for the institution.

The activity exposed students to hands-on agricultural skills, reinforced the importance of food production, and strengthened the school’s commitment to practical education and community development.
